If I were Rahul Gandhi

I am not a Congress Party follower but I am a fan of Rahul Gandhi and his way of approach towards politics. He brings fresh air to politics. His direct approach in reaching people, his mingling with poor Dalits and muslims is a rare thing I saw among top politicians. He do all this without any fuss and hype.

His decision to contest alone in UP and Bihar in 2009 Lokasabha elections is indicating his strength of character and belief in his strong views. The way he is bringing transparency in NSUI is indicating his sincerity. Because of Rahul Gandhi image, Congress party won many Loksabha seats in urban areas (BJP bastions) in 2009 elections.

So, even after Sonia Gandhi retirement from active politics, Congress will be in safe hands of Rahul Gandhi. Still, I have some random thoughts on Rahul Gandhi.

I found him an intelligent man, very well-informed and clear-headed, singularly free of any bias.” - Khushwant Singh’s confession after interacting with Rahul Gandhi. (Source: Outlook)

If I were Rahul Gandhi:

1. Official Website/Blog: First, I will open official site and actively share my thoughts through articles. It is the easiest way to reach new generation. I can engage with lakhs of people and receive and share ideas and vision for India and Congress Party. I do not know whether Rahul Gandhi already has an official site/blog.

2. Youtube: I will share my visits to rural areas and interactions with poor people in youtube (along with my thoughts). Barack Obama is my inspiration. This may help to bring more honest people into politics.

3. IT Ministry: Just like physical infrastructure, high speed broadband network will help India to save billions of rupees. Business World magazine already published a wonderful article on this topic. You can provide high quality education and healthcare services to even remote people.

4. Tourism: Small countries like Thailand and Singapore developed their economis around tourism. Despite having so many tourist attractions, we failed to develop travel industry which has potential to bring billions of forex and can create lakhs of jobs. We have Taj Mahal; We have Khajuraho; We have wild life parks; we have beautiful lakes; we have wonderful beaches; we have Himalayas and many hill stations; we have serene North-East; We have spiritual places; We have caves, waterfalls, heritage centres and historical forts etc.

We have everything but we do not a have great leader to understand its potential. Rahul Gandhi is my pick among Indian leaders.

I (Rahul Gandhi) already proved my political talent. I will take IT and tourism ministries in Manmohan cabinet (Manmohan Singh already invited Rahul to join cabinet) and prove my administrative abilities and take India to new level by fulfilling Rajeev Gandhi dreams.

It may be the best gift a Son can give to a father (fulfilling his dreams). If Rajeev Gandhi were alive, he might have done same – taking India into 21st century.

5. Last but not least: I will marry a traditional Indian girl. Marriage makes us a “Complete Raymond’s man.”

These are my random thoughts on Rahul Gandhi. I shared these thoughts as a fan of Rahul Gandhi but not to hurt anyone.

Please share your thoughts through comments.
